Dear
I'd like to inform you about
a fantastic fundraising opportunity with a local company. We have
used Fritz's Frozen Custard almost exclusively for our fundraising
needs for our Speech Team at St. Charles West High School for about
ten years. Years ago, I spoke with a fellow speech coach who explained
how she was using a local ice cream business to earn profits for her
team. At the time, I had the Fritz boys in my classes and knew
their parents, Debbe and Terry Fritz, were supportive of our school.
I knew that I enjoyed their product and thought that others in my building
would also. So I took a risk, contacted the Fritz's, received
school approval, and set up a fundraiser to sell Fritz's Frozen Custard
during our school lunch. It has worked out beautifully which is
why we continue to use their services.
I have had other fundraising
opportunities come my way, but I continue to rely on Fritz's Frozen
Custard. Here's why:
- I believe in supporting
a local business. Why should students work so hard for a big fundraising
company that does not invest back into the local community? Everyone
likes supporting local businesses because they enhance our communities
in a variety of ways.
- Fritz's Frozen
Custard is a quality product that virtually sells itself. Instead
of my students begging people to buy junk that no one really wants,
we have a line of students at lunch wanting to buy from us. After
students try Fritz's Frozen Custard, they like it and buy it again
at the next opportunity. I have students ask me all year, "When
are you selling Fritz's again?"
- The commitment is
small. Students do not have to canvass a large area or put in
many hours to be successful. We also do not need a large number
of students to run the sale.
- Fritz's brings
our frozen custard to our school when we need it. We just call
and order for the days and times that will work for our school.
We do not need to leave school to pick it up.
- We are able to meet
our fundraising goals. We usually have two sales in the fall before
our Speech season starts, and two sales in the spring after season has
ended. This can net us about $600 a year from our school of approximately
950 students.
- It is a win-win
situation. Our Speech Team earns funds and Fritz's Frozen Custard
earns free marketing of their products to the teenage demographic.
Some students come to our school not being familiar with Fritz's,
but when they hear the hype around school and try their product, students
are more likely to visit the Fritz's Frozen Custard store in the future.
Here are some tips to ensure
a successful fundraiser for Fritz's Frozen Custard:
- Decide on the number
of sales dates. Keep in mind that novelty wears off, so limit
the number of opportunities to maximize the sales each day.
- Ask students for
their favorite flavors and order 3-4 flavors.
- The week of the
sale, place flyers with the Fritz's logo around the school advertising
the sales date.
- A few days before
the sale, use the PA system or video announcements to advertise.
- Be sure you have
enough help by having students sign up for time slots.
- Make a plan for
leftover frozen custard. Do you have access to a freezer in your
school? Will you sell at another time if necessary?
- Adjust your orders
to fit the needs of your school.
I urge you to consider a Fritz's
Frozen Custard fundraiser at your school. Fundraising can be difficult,
but Fritz's makes it easy. Everyone from Fritz's has been
fantastic to work with. It has been very successful for our Speech
Team at St. Charles West High School and I am confident that a Fritz's
Frozen Custard fundraiser possesses potential for your organization.
